Six Month Stats

Well, we had our 6 month appointment, and our little girl is growing up so quickly! She was off the charts again!

Height: 28. 25 inches

Weight: 18lbs 11 oz

We received the "OK" to start solids. The doc wants her to do various cereals the first month, then work in veggies and eventually fruits. So far, she hasn't been a huge fan. We took some photos, it was pretty funny!

I also decided to take her 6 month professional photos myself this month. I have the fancy camera, so Dave convinced me to give it a shot. I made my own backdrop stand out of PVC and bought some fabric for backgrounds from Jo-Ann Fabrics. They turned out "ok". Definitely not as great as a real professionals', but not horrible. I got photoshop CS2 and Elements, and am trying to learn how to use them- but it is not something easy to pick up quickly. My goal is to have them "ready to share" in the next few days. I'll post when I do!!! In the meantime, here is a "teaser".

Other than that, we have a busy few weeks coming up!! Dave's and my three year wedding anniversary is Wednesday. We have a bunch of parties on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are trying to head up to MN the following weekend to visit Em & Megan. We head to Vegas at the end of the month for a short vacation and also to celebrate my 30th bday a little early.

Rylee got hurt last weekend, and ended up in the vet hospital. She over extended her leg- Ouch! She's doing better now, but we've had to help her take it easy. That hasn't been too much fun. That's about it here, hope all is well!!!

Yep, that's our 6 month old!!!! Where does the time go?!?

She's doing great. We have our 6 month doc appt tomorrow- aka more shots and a check up on her GERD/meds. But I'm guessing we'll get the ok to start solids. Should be fun! I can't wait to see how tall she is, since she came in at 100+% off the growth charts at 5 months!

She had her first swim lessons last week- and LOVED LOVED LOVED the water. We got home and put her outside in the kiddy pool. She loved it. Check out this video of her pushing Ry (who was trying to drink her pool water) out of the way- too cute!

Sitting Up, Teeth, and More!

I've been horrible at the updates- I'm sorry! I've been traveling and it's slowing me down.

Go figure, I was out in NJ/NYC two weeks ago- and about 3 hours after I left, Maddyn got her first tooth!!! I missed it. I was so bummed. I swear I pictured this big ole' tooth completely popped up, cuz when I got home, I was surprised to see it only a mm or two above the gums, LOL.

Trying to get a photo of it, but that's near impossible b/c of that crazy tongue of hers!! So tooth number one came right at 5.5 months (5/27/08).. and it appears tooth number two might be coming tonight. We'll see. It's nearly through the gums, but with my luck- it will hold out till Tuesday since I head to California for the week. I hope she saves some of her teeth for when I'm home!!

She's also sitting up for long periods of time. It's so fun to see!! She can go about 4 or 5 minutes. Then she topples over and starts laughing. It's hilarious!

We took her to the park for the first time last week- she loved the swings. She was able to go down the slide on Dave's lap too. I think we have another adrenaline junkie in the family. She was giggling the whole way down. Dave is already talking about taking her to Cedar Point (eyeroll) ;)

Other than that, nothing too crazy and new. Trying to keep up with the travel for work (it's my busy month). Everyone is doing great. We have our 6 month appt on June 20th. We're hoping we'll get the ok to start solids, and we'll learn more about the plans for her meds. It will be interesting to see if her height growth has slowed down at all. No one can believe how tall she is!
